what do you spend money on?

Online shopping (electronics, hats etc)
College vending machines with pricey snacks.
Cell Phone bill.

food (daily)

clothes (I usually end up overspending when I go to a mall... I've been a bit better about it recently though)

monthly bills (phone, satellite TV, etc)

sometimes I'll chip in to get a table at a club

Oh, I went to a stripclub once with some friends, we were all completely hammered. The amount of money spent there was not good... Haven't been to one since lol

Mostly alcohol. The occasional movie or some clothes too.

Ding ding ding... we have a winner! Very surprised that this took so long to be mentioned.

probably cos a lot of people on here are under 21 and don't have fake IDs, I know I don't, I just ain't cool enough for one :(

^Don't worry, I never bothered to get a fake either.

I mostly spend money on clothes and food. My parents let me use their CC to buy whatever (we're not wealthy; my parents just don't want me to worry about money while I'm in school), but I only use it for groceries and textbooks. I use my own money for alcohol, restaurant meals/takeout, toiletries, and school supplies.

I recently developed a bad shopping addiction (I like to indulge in retail therapy), which I need to curb quickly.

Food, cell phone bill, gas now that I'm home. Movies (I had a stint where I bought tons of movies from Amazon),gifts for others, clothes. I just bought a bunch of new clothes for the first time in about six years. I think that was pretty justified.

And my nephew. I spend and I've spent so much money on that kid. D: He has two grandma's to do that, so I should just cut it out, and I am. And I dropped a bunch of money on my new niece, especially right before the baby shower a few months ago.

I have a decent chunk of money in savings (not 5K D: ), but I don't make that much at my job, and I do spend my money, not recklessly, but I do. I've been debating getting a Wii for a while now, too, and I might. I just hope the new Zelda game actually gets released this year. ;_;

Saving is good, and that's great that you've got 5K saved up. :]

I have a fake but I'm scared to try it for actually buying alcohol. I just don't want the x's on my hands at bars/clubs haha.

Bring a mini bottle of hairspray, the cheap kind is fine, but don't get an aerosol-- the pump kind with the little plastic round cap. Go into the bathroom and spray the X liberally. Rub with the plastic round cap-- the end that goes over the pump. Rinse. No more X, gone in seconds. I used to do that even though I don't drink just because nobody would even dance with someone that had an X.

I wouldn't risk buying alcohol with a fake ID, I feel like it's less risky to buy from an older friend or relative far far away from anyone who is obligated to report you. If you don't have any, make friends with people who do.

^^Come to NYC. Nobody cards here.

When I asked two of my friends how much money do they think they would save if they didn't drink as much as they did, and they just looked at each other.

cigarettes and booze. im sorry.

^ lol. Why are you apologizing? Whatever makes you happy, haha =]

I realized what else I used to spend a lot of my money on when I first arrived at college: Arizona Ice Tea -- you know, those tall 99 cent cans. So that's like 5 cans a week. Now it's more like once every 2 weeks. I don't know why I got so addicted to that stuff.

Also the usual trip to the movie theater (+ bus fare since the theater is two towns over) and sometimes concert tickets, but I don't really go to many concerts -- more like every 4 months or so, unlike some kids who go to a concert every week (!) 0.o

^ I used to kinda be like that and buy sodas every day of class. At $1.35 a bottle that added up quick! So I started bringing water instead. I can't believe I used to waste so much money and calories on a drink!

Interviewer: If I gave you fifty dollars, right now, what would you do with it?
David Byrne: I would get something to eat.

Books for pleasure

Video games (spent nearly $600 on such so far)

Books for school

Trolley fare when I don't feel like walking to school

Otherwise, my parents provide me with everything else. I don't have a cell phone either, so I either give my wages to my parents or spend it on material things (i.e., non-necessities).

Food and booze.

Just ask a friend to buy you booze if you don't want to use your fake.
