What does it mean to be a pre engineering student

It means you’re intending to go into engineering but have not formally declared your actual major (ie. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering). On your student account, it will list your major as pre-engineering if you apply with your intended major as an engineering major. It doesn’t mean you can’t suddenly apply for a fine arts or biology major, it’s just a place holder.

Pre-engineering students are in the College of Engineering, pre-science (ie. biology) students are in the College of Arts and Sciences, etc.
