This is so nerve-wrecking…I got an update last last friday (but without the oasis link) but nothing has changed since. A lot of my friends have gotten in already and their statuses didn’t change until a day or 2 before they got the package in the mail. I don’t even know if my update was significant at all now. =(

Sorry, I should’ve been more clear. Did anyone applying to Marshall get a date change in the last few days?

my friend who got into marshall got his second status update last thursday and got his acceptance last friday

Ya, that was definitely the first wave after the scholarship wave. My friend got into Viterbi last weekend, but he has a 35 on his ACT, and pretty much the hardest possible courseload you could have at my school. I’m looking for a second wave of Marshall acceptances, but I’m getting kind of pessimistic at this point.

me 2…i’m getting pessimistic at this point…i’m sure when i go home today…nothing will be in the mail.

Taxi, I’m feeling the same way. I’m hoping for another wave but it may neve come…

from what i realized, usc puts lots of emphasis on sat/act scores…when i applied i had a 3.95 unweighted gpa…lots of awards…nmf (from indiana), very well-thought essays, but my act was only a 28… so, i’m sure that is one of the reasons i’m going to get rejected.

Really? I have a 1950 so I don’t know if they think that is good or not
I thought it was okay… Idk anymore

around 11 ap courses…everything else was advanced/honors…but even though I thought everything was good enough, i’ve realized that my scores are going to probably hurt me…

my sat was bad too…like barely a 2000

so, i’m pretty sure that’s why i’m not getting anything (i really thought my state and national awards would help…but probably not).

I though I had a great chance too… Idk what the hell happened :(

To be blunt, your SAT Is should be at least 2000 to be seriously considered at USC unless you have really good ECs or other stats. I mean, USC is ranked from #23 to #27 nationally and some of its colleges like Viterbi are ranked #8 in the nation, so it is a pretty selective school.

angryasianman- i agree with you. but also take into account that the average SAT score for the admitted freshmen is a 1960.

Candy, don’t give up yet. You did get two updates in March. Yours will be interesting because your updates are farther apart, but you still had both in March. Your stats are really good and USC looks at the rigor of your courses.

I’m betting (and hoping) you will get in!

Nagooya, we are pulling for you too!

I know… But I thought I made up for it with everything else… I guess not.

Edit: Thanks for all of the support!

Hmm. I didn’t think too much about scores, and I didn’t retake the test or anything–I thought since I was applying for writing, the portfolio and essays and such would matter the most, and that I should spend more time writing and revising than memorizing techniques from those SAT prep books. So that’s probably what’s keeping me out. Great.

yea, that’s what I thought since I was applying to production, but apparently we were wrong?

Do we know of many or for that matter any who have gotten into Production, Writing, Critical Studies etc.? Maybe SCA is late in sending out and it is not necessarily anything wrong with your applications?

yes, there are people on here who have been admitted to production, interactive entertainment, and I believe critical studies. not so sure about writing. but, SCA was one of the last schools to send out acceptances last year (very last days of march).
