<p>Carrying capacity is subjective- it is not a number and yet we know there is an upper limit. </p>
<p>Call me a resource optimist, but I think the problem with today is that the distribution of resources: energy, clean water, food do not correspond with the demands of where there are most people who depend on these basic necessities for survival. These resources are available in DCs or for a hefty sum that puts it out of reach, and that is the problem today. Despite globalization, transport and development has been unequal in allowing people in different geographical locations access to resources, rather than the amount of them.</p>
<p>We all share the planet, but carrying capacity to me is a very localized concept that requires context.</p>
