<p>I am an academic at a major university. i can tell you that president’s leave all the time…in various stages of honor or disgrace. It doesn’t mean a thing for Case’s future.</p>
<p>As for the financial: it is correct - endowments have nothing to do with the deficit - that is operations only. That is, Case took a risk to build the new dorms, buy into the new food service, build new buildings. They expected to be in a deficit they just didn’t expect to have to pay it off as soon as the trustees are asking. They will be fine. And, scholarships etc. are all from endowments so they will be fine too.</p>
<p>Case is a good institution. It is doing many of the right things.</p>
