What High School Communities Does Harvard Favor?

another interesting list of acceptances. Harvard admits are in the 3rd tier of students, while you don’t see many of the typical elite names such as MIT, Princeton, Yale, etc. You do see those colleges in the top tier of BLS students.

It may lend credence to the suggestion that Harvard give admission preference to BLS students.

^^it’s interesting to note that not one got accepted to Stanford from this magnet school…

It is true that Harvard accepts more students from the Boston area because of two reasons. I went to Brookline High school and 10 students got into Harvard this year.many of my classmates are the children of alumni, so they get the legacy advantage. Also, people in my school are excellent in academics and almost everyone got to the very best schools in the country. However, I don’t know if it affects your application just because you’re attending a school in Boston or not.
