<p>Both Brown and Duke have roughly equal undergraduate reputations. Duke has a thriving independent scene as well if you’re interested in that. The cons for Duke besides distance can easily be changed depending on how you shape your college experience but the crappiness in the Brown dorms will always remain.</p>

You can get internships in the summer in New York coming out of any school, certainly Duke included.</p>
