What is Duke doing to get better?

Everyone, just let this thread die. The OP fails to see how elitist his questions are. He/she doesn’t really care about Duke but only rather the image Duke has to the world versus every other top school and we all can see that.

For those entering Duke this fall, please keep in mind one thing: you are there primarily to get an education. Not to worry about how many students Duke has the potential to reject or to compare Duke to the other top schools. It is silly and they are just schools–a place to obtain tools to change the world.

I know that a lot of my previous threads have been about waitlists and ivy leagues and whatnot, but I’ve moved on from that. In fact, I’ve taken my name off the waitlist for all but columbia and that’s just because columbia is 40 minutes away instead of 10 hours away. So I have absolutely no idea where the allegation that I am unhappy with duke comes from…It makes no sense. The purpose of the thread was simply an analysis of how duke is trying to improve thenseves& and every school I should be continuously trying to improve themselves.

I am not asking these questions in other institutions threads because it doesn’t matter what they are doing to get better. I’m not going there. These other schools were simply used as a benchmark to duke not as if duke has any obligation to mirror them.

@lb43823 My daughter will be attending Duke this fall. She is ecstatic and is focused on all of the incredible opportunities there. I would advise you to drop all HYPSM talk immediately: it makes you seem immature, focused on appearances, and you will never be happy in life if you dwell on negatives. Go to Duke this fall, and follow your passions there. If you get there and find weaknesses, propose a solution & pursue it.
