That sounds good – I didn’t see Cal Poly on the list you provided.
Please note that many many schools have gotten much more competitive than you may remember from your older son four years ago. He should consider applying to several of the Cal States, not just Cal Poly, to maximize his chances.
I am assuming you are referring to Cal Poly SLO? There is a new Cal Poly Humboldt, and there is also Cal Poly Pomona. Both of them are less competitive than SLO.
