Is Pre-Education at University of Pittsburgh the same thing as Education at a school such as Penn State? Will you get the same education needed, or does the pre part mean something different. If i want to be a history teacher do I have to do pre education and history?

bump… please

Pre-Education refers to guaranteed admission to the post bachelors teacher certification program

You would get a BA in history in the College of Arts and Sciences, then spend a fifth year in the College of Education getting your Pennsylvania teaching certification

It’s not the same as Penn State

I don’t think the Oakland campus has an undergraduate major for teaching history, but one of the other campuses might, like Bradford or Johnstown.
