What is the best school in Canada?

how about western ontario…i rarely saw its name mentioned in this thread

University of Western Ontario (UWO) isn’t known for particularly strong undergrad programs, however it’s Richard Ivey Business School has a solid MBA program.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned McMaster’s Health Science program yet. It’s quite selective this year (and last), they’ve mostly been accepting 95%+.

Read the THES-QS university ranking. McGill ranks 12th in the world. That speaks for itself. Also, coming from abroad, I can say from experience that internationally, Mcgill is much more highly regarded than U of T or UBC or any other Canadian school for that matter.

McGill

UBC and Queen’s (tie)

Toronto

Alberta

According to Macleans.

No… McGill is highly regarded within the US whereas Toronto is the #1 within Canada without any doubt. Internationally, Toronto and McGill should be similar in terms of reputation. That QS ranking ranks McGill higher; however, Toronto ranks higher in every department than McGill (except Med) so I am not sure if that is accurate…

^^ I agree.

Is it true Queen’s has a better Engineering program than McGill ?

realistically these are all really good schools. purely statistically speaking, this year’s admission averages are around :

UBC: low 70s+
UofT: mid 70s +
Queens: low 80s +
McGill: high 80s/low 90s +

uoft might be good for some programs, same for queen’s, but there is no denying that mcgill is by far the most competitive and selective of these universitiets, which i would guess says something about the general quality of their students and education

Where are you pulling these statistics from? Queen’s has a reputation within Canada as the most selective university. Well, at least I know for a fact that their students have the highest average entering grade average.

Queen’s may have a better engineering program than McGill - I’m not sure. What matters is that Waterloo and Toronto are more renowned than both of them when it comes to engineering.

For engineering programs in Ontario, the most recent reported entrance averages were:
Waterloo 89%
Toronto 87%
Queens 86.9%
others <=85%
