<p>If you’re looking outside the top 200 or so schools, the rankings are going to be of even less help. There likely will be big differences between school #200 and school #225, but not in terms of perceived national cachet (neither will likely have much of that) and much more in terms of fit and local reputation.
Just for kicks, I decided to look at schools #200 and #225 on Forbes’ list.</p>

<p>Two very different schools, and if you’re deciding between the two based off of some ranking, you have a fundamentally misguided view of higher education in this country.</p>
