Sure you can! Select any 12-year old immigrant, newly arrived from a non-english-speaking country, and give them an IQ test in english. They may score 80 or even less. When they turn 18, after six years of english learning, let them take an SAT. They may very well score 2400, now that they can read the test! During the 20’s many immigrants were labeled feeble-minded and inferior because of the scores they received on intelligence tests administered on Ellis Island.</p>
<p>Other than that minor disagreement, I am impressed with the depth of disari21’s understanding of what a test does and does indicate. Many people on CC could save themselves a lot of angst and worry by gaining this sort of understanding.</p>
