I was just about to say that. Who’s going to save all your lives when the Earth explodes?

the Earth explodes?

It must be nuclear engineers’ fault. lol

Is the industrial discipline less respected? It is highly respected by employers and the general public. Some of the other engineering majors talk crap for various reasons, but that honestly doesn’t matter for employment and life satisfaction.

Not taken as seriously? Employers seem to take it very seriously as they pay 250 thousand IEs 55-150K to solve problems for them. Once you’re actually working in the industry I doubt you’ll care what a bunch of cubicle engineers think about the work you do.

Is there a probable chance of phasing out in the future? Not anytime soon. Unlike electrical and mechanical engineers, the BLS expects plenty of job openings in the IE field over the next decade. IEs and their related disciplines are needed in every industry and every subsector.

All of these answers are wrong.

Financial engineers are the most respected.

In about 200 years we’ll be moving to colonize another planet. AerospacE for the win.

Sorry about that! I was grumpy when I posted. I should stay off the internet for awhile! (I have to do some drafting for a company that is trying to figure out Army Corps of Engineers standards. They don’t have their act together, and preliminary foundation drawings are due TUESDAY! Gah.)

Augh. You HAVE to know what you’re talking about when you’re going up against the Corps… And no, I really DO love how snarky this board has gotten! I think it’s great.

Meanwhile, everybody else, stop this nonsense. We can argue about this until the cows come home. Speaking of cows, and consequently, of dairy products…

Lol, we all know this is supposed to be a relaxed chat. Don’t stress too much about the cows.

waste management engineering
