what is wrong with drinking as an escape?

Who ever said anything about addiction in the first place? I think it was just about drinking for several days, when the going gets tough. Whatever works for you, do it. However, be aware that in the longterm, alcohol is actually a proven depressant.

Btw, I’m not addicted, and I drink everyday.
lol

il est dangereux…

drinking not only ruins ur body, but makes u sexually promiscuous, violent, etc. also drinking never relieves ur stress; it adds more to ur already troubled lives with its consequences such as health, property damage, etc.

now, if u are wise and self-controulling like me, then by all means enjoy. but i would go for wine

Wouldn’t you feel better if you got rid of your problem and then drank to celebrate the victory?

^ Manslaughter is illegal in some states.

It only makes your problems worse in the long run

I think some of you need to realize the escape is the problem, alcohol is just the aide. People can choose to consume alcohol in various quantities for different lengths of time and be just fine. A person can drink alot for four years and then choose not to, ever again without being labeled alcoholic or anything. It’s going to depend on behavior.

Usually full blown alcoholics that 12 step, become hooked on god. why? because in their lives they need something to “settle the nerves” so to speak. If Jesus does it in the same way a half gallon does, bully for them.

I think some here who are so down on alcohol miss the issue. Alcoholic beverages are a choice of consumption, like fish, beef or poultry. It’s something you can injest for pleasure. With anything from chocolate, coffee, burgers, a person can overdo. But the root cause isn’t the food or beverage. It’s the complusion to overuse.
