I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the Music Major thread - and believe me, no one in this family wants to be a music major! :)

My favorite thread of all time - for advice, wisdom, and good guys coming out on top in the final reel -is “No Acceptances: One Kid’s Story - A Year Later” referenced by sybbie in post 6 above. Great advice from such savvy posters - and tremendous generosity on andi’s part in sharing her son’s story. Just read it again - and cried again, too!

LOL - just read ** A metathread to save us all time**…that made my day, after a day of not so good college news. Just when you think the CC parents take things a little too seriously, you realize there are some people here with great senses of humor. I think I might stay on after graduation, after all. :)

Sybbie,
So glad your mentioned the Support for Late To School thread. It taught us all so much about life and what’s important.

And a thank you to Violadad for being the resident “Linkmaster”. He is so adept at finding good threads and providing the links to them for new posters.

I do love the meta thread. And I’m partial to the “your best buy of the day” one too.

I will say…there is a very bright group of folks over on the music majors forum…supportive and with vast experience and great ideas and help.

While looking for something else, came across Evil_robot’s there (he turned down Yale to take the scholarship at Vanderbilt)

If you search Classic CC, you can find ER’s OP on the subject (March 10, 2004):

thread title: My college choices…

one year later
