Tell me you’re preppy without telling me you’re preppy!
My childhood bedroom was decorated in pink and lime green!
The only thing that kept me from falling apart when I had to move in high school was my parents allowing me to decorate my new room in hot pink and lime green!
My childhood room was lime green and pink, too!!!
Loved it so much.
My childhood room which I shared with my sister was pink, but that was my parents choice. When they repainted when I was about ten, I insisted on aqua. My sister went along with whatever I said, lol. She’s a totally pink person now.
Green.
It’s not easy bein’ green.
Blue, all shades
My home is decorated in neutrals with some blues and a small touch of green.
I wear lots of blue. It is always a happy color for me.
Green – from medium green (Eagles’ throwback green) to british racing/forest green.
My favorite color is magenta. Seasonally, I am a dark winter and wear a lot of jewel tones plus teal. My house is decorated with color, but generally not ones I would wear (creamy yellow, raspberry, and celery green in the main living areas with lime green, black, and white with pink accents in the kitchen). Hunter green also has a special spot in my heart (was probably my favorite color in middle and high school).
I love all things green (although I never wear it), and teal (which I rarely wear). That post above with the strip of teal colors literally made me sigh out loud.
Both remind me of the sea of which I am drawn to like a moth to a flame.
Blue, and more bright blues than dull blues. I remember doing the “seasons” thing in the 80s, and I am a winter. I looked good in jewel colors, black and white, and light colors totally wash me out. I am NOT a fan or orange or yellow, for clothes especially. I used to wear a LOT of black and a lot of gray, but as I’ve gotten older I look even older with either of those colors. Blues, greens, purples, and true reds (not orange reds) are the colors I gravitate towards.
Me, too! My mom loved those colors, too. We had very similar tastes in jewelry and clothes.
I love cobalt blue, emerald green and true red and maroon. Fuschia is also a good color on me. Our family loves blue but our house is mostly white.
Purple. My dining room is painted purple. The boys’ HS color was purple.
When I was a teen, we were allowed to help choose colors to paint our bedrooms. I chose what I thought would be a light blue but once the entire wall was painted blue, I found it too dark so painted clouds and a sun with sunbeams mural and it brightened the room a lot. That mural stayed there for decades and always made me happy to see it.
I like to look at magenta and periwinkle blue. I like to wear sapphire blue and black.
Upthread I said indigo blue, which is my single favorite color. Like many of you I love color and it’s hard to pick one.
I have been making quilts in the past several years and I love combining the various colors. I’m planning to make one for my D that is periwinkle, magenta, peach, coral and ivory, very excited to see how that will turn out!
Clothing wise, I prefer black mostly. I have grey hair and light skin, so black is most flattering for me. But I do enjoy color (just not always as clothing).
I’d say blue is my favorite. When I’m looking for art, home furnishings, fabrics I’m drawn to blues. I like an ocean blue, cobalt blue, navy, denim, bright blues not teals or baby blues. I had new slipcovers made for two different sofas and I ended up with two blue sofas. I love them both. When I redid my patio set I picked a dark blue fabric.
For clothing I wear a lot of white, gray, black, blue and burgundy. My favorite sweater is a taupe.
When I was in jr high I wanted a bedroom of bright orange and lime green. My stepdad who was a gruff man sewed a corner group bed covering for me and my sister do,plate with the bolsters. I remember going to the paint store looking for the perfect orange paint.
