Ritter Sport bars are also very good - I like the milk or dark with hazelnuts - so many nuts that they are really hazelnuts glued together with chocolate.

We love our Lake Champlain chocolates in Vermont. Yum! I prefer the dark chocolates and now they are practically medicine.

Dark, organic 70%+ cacao. Trader Joe’s has it. I’ve been eating it exclusively for months and months on the theory that “it’s good for you.” But give me almost any chocolate and I will probably be happy. :)

Dark w mint. The there’s a 250g (like 1/2 pound) Albert Heijn store brand that sells for the equivalent of $3. (that the biggest grocery store chain in the Netherlands, owned by Ahold, who also owns Stop & Shop and Giant-Landover here in the US. We should petition them to bring over the chocolate!)

Best Belgian chocolates in NYC in my opinion is Pralines Leonidas. The dark choices are incredible. Years back New York Magazine did a piece on NYC’s best chocolatiers, and I was shocked that it wasn’t on the list. Being the serious chocoholic that I am, I sent H, who works in midtown, to four of the ones on the list. In my opinion they did not measure up. I still cast my vote for Pralines Leonidas. We went to France this past year, and I couldn’t wait to start sampling the chocolates - how funny that the first chocolate shop we encountered was Leonidas!

You are my hero.

So many to love…but a Ritter Alpine Milk bar can change the trajectory of any day for the better.

I am not a chocolate fancier except for certain times of the month but maybe I should be.

I do like when I am out walking & this factory makes the air smell like hot cocoa.
[Welcome to Theo Chocolate](http://www.theochocolate.com/)

These are actually my favorite.
cadeauxchocolates.com;

Theo is excellent

Fran’s is fabulous

See’s pretty good too

All time favorite: Ethel M chocolate! Wow it’s good. They closed all the stores I know of except in Las Vegas. I am not a gambler but I would go to Vegas for the chocolate!!

I like See’s dark chocolate, nuts and chews. I don’t care for Godiva.

Don’t like Sees at all it’s too sweet. Godiva is okay but too smooth. I like most German/Swiss chocolates especially with caramel or hazelnuts. I like
[Welcome to Leonidas Fresh Belgian Chocolates](http://www.leonidas-chocolate.com/) makes very good ones - they have locations around the country. There’s also a place in DC that makes artisanal chocolates that my husband brings back from trips that’s amazing, but I can’t remember what it’s called.

But probably the best chocolates I’ve had are these: http://annasheachocolates.com/
I went to an event where she demonstrated making her chocolates. They have softer centers than most truffles, but they were soooo good.

Not a chocolate person, but the one I really like is Teuscher.

Zoosermom beat me to it!

Wilbur Buds! Get the dark chocolate and milk chocolate mix. Mmmmmm Yum!

I live a few miles from the factory. Jealous much?

I really like See’s chocolate, very fresh tasting.

Also, there is a place called Mitchell’s Fine Chocolates in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, that makes their own handmade chocolate and it is delicious.

[Mitchell?s Fine Chocolates](<a href=“Search Results for “” – Mitchell's Fine Chocolates”>http://www.mitchellschocolates.com/)

A Japanese coworker brought us [ROYCE’ Nama Chocolate](<a href=“ROYCE' Chocolate”>ROYCE' Chocolate) and it was the best, creamiest, most flavorful I’ve ever had. Unfortunately they do not ship it overseas…

Eclat Chocolates, especially the chocolates filled with liquid caramel…

Sees IMO, kicks the butt of all high end chocolate if you like nuts.

For high end I like Maison du Chocolat, but DH gets off cheap as I’ll take Sees first any day.

the darker the better! I love 65% and up. One time had 90%, was certainly bittersweet.

I did read a study today that people that eat chocolate at least a few times a week are actually thinner than people that don’t eat chocolate!

I eat a bite or two of dark chocolate daily, so am hoping that’s my secret!

Lindt and only Lindt. Coincidentally I sit here now with a bar of Lindt Classic Recipe while I consider DD’s collegiate options. Lindt hits some of the opiate receptors in the brain that the other chocolates miss.

We bought little chocolate discs while on a cruise in Scandinavia last month. I wish I remembered the name of it , I believe it was from The Netherlands or Belgium. Hands down the best chocolate I have ever tasted. It was half milk and half while chocolate.
I think if my husband goes back to visit his parents again this year , he will need to bring some more of it home :)
