What living situation should introverted /intellectual types be happiest retiring in?

I like the college town idea. Maybe in a warm place? Top of my head ideas: Austin, San Antonio (Trinity has lots of top level lectures), Fayetteville, Arkansas (low prices, a popular retirement area), North or South Carolina near the Unis.

My grandparents and some other relatives bought a places down in Florida in an over 55 community years ago. They are gone now but my dad and some other relatives own places there now. . Basically they all go down there in the winter and spend the summers up in Michigan. They all really like it because while they have their own place they can get together for lunch or dinner. They have made a lot of friends that way. However I don’t think they would want to live there in the summer. It would be too hot. Are you planning on staying in your current area or moving some where else?
