<p>This isn’t directed at anyone in particular; this has been prevalent since I showed up on CC almost two years ago. </p>
<p>I understand the want to know what goes on in the admission office; I’m as curious as anyone. But what I don’t understand is why people post on here that one part of the application is more important than another without having experience in the field. Heck, I hope essays are worth more than SSAT scores, but I have no idea. </p>

No matter how stupendously great your essay is, I doubt it will out-weigh an SAT score well below the school’s average. At the end of the day, the admissions committee needs to be confident you can handle the academic level of the school.</p>
<p>@mathman1201- I’d start worrying your applications. Even with a 99% SSAT score you will still have to make a compelling case for admission.</p>
<p>You have to convince an AO (via your application) that you have more going for you than just your brain. A 99% SSAT score puts you in the running but (unfortunately) doesn’t set you apart. Congratulations on your wonderful score but now the really hard ( or fun- depending on how you look at things) part begins…</p>
