what other majors are there?

Actually just about any major will get you there. What’s important is what you learn and the kinds of experiences you have in undergrad to prepare you for it. I have colleagues from undergrad working in securities, management consulting, and finance who majored in economics (duh) but also history, philosophy, psychology, and English. They generally took classes in econ or minored in management & organization (we didn’t have a business major at my LAC), and some of them did summer internships with the same companies to learn the ropes and build major cred.

Math, statistics, actuarial science, finance and accounting are especially good alternatives to business or economics. You might also major in a modern foreign language and minor in one of those things. Some schools also have majors in management, marketing, and risk management/insurance. Another potential way to go is some kind of policy studies.
