<p>It’s a bit misleading to talk about schools not “counting” freshmen year unless we’re talking about schools like the UCs which don’t see your freshmen grades when making their decisions. While Princeton, Stanford and others don’t use freshmen year grades when recalculating GPAs, rank remains very important at these schools.</p>
<p>The bottom line is to make sure you have schools that are matches and safeties with all of your grades counted.</p>
