What schools have in person classes now? or will this spring?

Rice has a mix. Small classes (under 25) can be in person if the professor wants. Some mid-sized (less than 50) are also in person if there is a large enough room for distancing. Large classes (bigger than 50) are currently remote. There aren’t a ton of large classes at Rice, those are mainly intro type classes.

Rice allowed all students back but many chose to live off campus or stayed remote. I think some of the remote kids are coming back for spring. The professors really got to choose if they wanted to be in person or remote (except for large classes) and I think more chose remote than was expected. But at the time the decisions had to be made the Houston was not doing well virus wise.

No word yet about spring semester. If they keep things the same, I suspect more professors will choose to be in person based on how well this semester is going. My daughter feels her remote classes are pretty well done. In one case, her class is remote but they do a couple large group projects and her group meets weekly in person with the professor.
