<p>Creating your own major usually means you design a field of study which pulls from multiple departments. It cannot replicate an already existing major, and it usually involves a research project/thesis. So it’s not like I could create a major about “superheroes” if I wanted. There are no departments that offer enough courses on superheroes to get an interdisciplinary view on the subject (geography and superheroes! political science and superheroes! chemistry and superheroes! no, doesn’t exist. that’d be sweet though).</p>
