What schools should I apply to?

it doesnt really matter public or private as long as i am far away from this place and get a good education in history

All the UCs are going to be major reaches since they give preference to in-state students from community colleges, two year colleges and four year colleges.

So far, people have already suggested:
UCSB (even if you are not a cali resident), Uwisconsin, Umichigan, Tulane, and USC. American U in Washington DC and Fordham in NY. … several of the traditionally Catholic universities in major cities could be good places for the history/classics combo and you can find them in a range of selectivity. Loyola in Baltimore, St. Louis U in St. Louis…

Perhaps respond to those suggestions, after researching them, before asking for more suggestions.

What safer and match schools have you considered, in addition to the reaches you’ve already listed?

Southern - the list you posted on the Transfer 2008 thread is looking a lot more balanced. Keep your favorite reaches, as someone else said, but it is good that you have added some with less reachy stats profiles and higher transfer acceptance rates.
