If you took a semester and a half worth of classes, barring any sort of crazy fluke or crack in the system, you have a semester and a half worth of classes on your transcripts with some sort of W (withdrawal), I (incomplete), NP (no pass), F, or whatever grade you got.
If you take 5 classes and fail all 5 classes, your transcript would show 5 failed classes. If you take 6 classes and failed 5 but passed 1, your transcript would show 5 failed classes and whatever grade you received in the 6th class. I’m not sure what the school told you, but “starting fresh” doesn’t happen. Your previous coursework and transcripts stay with you and when you apply to a UC, you will be required to report those grades and supply official transcripts from that school.
