ARGH I HATE LIVING IN CALIFORNIA
Wait - actually, no I don’t.
I HATE PRINCETON’S NOT BEING IN CALIFORNIA
or rather, I just wish they would mail the letters tomorrow.

so, saturday for ct, ny area?

lmao whoamg I love the progression of thoughts. That cracked me up.

I called the office a few minutes ago- the lady was very firm in saying that she is hoping they are mailed ON December 15th and not before- you can call beginning Wednesday, Dec 20th. So I’d suggest you guys take a break from College Confidential and just wait this one out
It’ll be fine.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

what about international appllicants! They should have pity on us…

majority of last year’s international applicants were notified on 12/14. not fair lol…

I think most people will get their decision by Saturday. My reasoning is thus:

Suppose the admissions office told people that they would be mailing the decisions on the 13th. Can you imagine the turmoil if Friday rolls around and some people have not gotten their letters? The office would be flooded with angry phone calls and some insane applicant might go so far as to threaten to sue. It is better for Princeton to give a later date but to still mail out the decisions earlier than the deadline. By doing this, they can minimize the number of exasperated phone calls and threats on the admissions officers’ lives.

Also, if you look back at last year’s thread, one applicant (international) even got their letter on the 13th! Most got their letters the 14th.

So that is my super-optimistic, semi-realistic thought process. Yay for procrastinating!

i just called now (noon) and they said decisions definitely mailed on friday

Yeah I just called too…“The decisions will be mailed on friday and not a moment sooner!”

That stinks…so why did they tell flyer by thursday?

Edit: OK, I just called and they said the same thing (15th). The lady on the phone also told me good luck! This was the nicest contact I’ve ever had with the admissions office (I don’t know about you, but whenever I’ve spoken with them, they’ve been informative but incredibly abrupt).
It kinda stinks, but at least now we have something definite, right?

haha I guess…but I still have NO CLUE when it is going to reach me all the way out here in CA!

the lady said that theyre mailing them out on friday. grrr

so they are really not considering internationals… :(

Don’t imply that. Last year they said the same and the internationals ended up getting their decisions earlier than the regular US applicants via email.

i can only hope so. Beause it would be depressing to receive my decision by January. Calling the admin office is not even an option. I am not strong enough to hear my decision on the phone. lol

they told me end of this week…grrrrrrrrrrr

Man go to last year’s posts and you’ll see that like all internationals were notified by email on the 14th, being an international myself, i hope that history repeats itself

Stanford application essays, here I come!

I still think they may be mailed Thursday. Remember, the person posted in the other thread about having siblings at Princeton who were told the same thing (mailed on the 15th), and yet they received their apps the 13th and 14th.

Also, I think they told flyers that they would mail it out Thursday for a reason…I dont think they lied. If they see an applicant actually come to the admission office to ask, then its harder to put forth the same canned answer they give to everyone on the phone. In other words, the lady at the desk wouldnt be so abrupt with someone.

I met the older lady who sits at the desk in Clio hall, and she was very nice. If she told flyers they will be mailed on Thursday, I dont think that she is lying.

Yeah, but flyers must have asked on Friday, and we all got told the 15th today. So maybe the “no later than Thursday” is not the most up-to-date news.
Sorry for being such a pessimistic. I’m just kind of feeling that way now. ![]()
But you may be right–I still do have some hope!
