Not sure when brunch is over, but have often had linner like eyemamom :). My new favorite
word is portmanteau!

If it’s between 11 AM and 2 PM it’s brunch, any later and it becomes dinch!

I like afternoon brunches, they imply a certain amount of relaxation and refreshment have occurred the night before.

OK, I’ve been invited to a shower for the bride-to-be of a dear friend’s son. Appropriately called a luncheon at noon on a Saturday, but it’s an “around-the-clock” shower. I have been assigned 6pm - dinner or drinks/hors d’oeuvres gift? Please advise! I haven’t been to a shower in about 20 years.

One of our favorite meals is brinner: Breakfast for dinner.

Brunch is any meal served between an hour after I wake up and the cocktail hour.

Both brunch and brinner usually include muffins or toast, eggs, bacon, orange juice and fruit.

Brunch may also include coffee and alcohol. Brinner includes neither…

I just read posts and found I was quoted after my post 3 years ago! No wonder I didn’t remember the thread.

I would give a pretty serving piece. I love this pewter stoneware by Juliska. It blends with almost any style - traditional or contemporary, and it has a glossy, unique patina:

I can go along with this definition, but by I’m not waiting till 2 pm for the first meal of the day!

Great idea Gourmetmom, could be used for dinner or drinks! Any other suggestions?
