A sad reality. My husband and I had a friend in our graduate program who was living in his van in the library parking lot because his wife wanted a divorce and the farm they lived on was his wife’s inherited property. He slept in our apartment many times when it got very cold. Eventually he was able to find an apartment to rent that he could afford on our pitiful stipends.
