Some people in past years have applied WAY earlier than you and still not heard about scholarships until late February or March. Don’t freak out, you still have a while.

Some people got UHC with their admittance, I want to say some got it with the scholarship. Either way it hardly matters. All it lets you do is take UHC classes without asking permission (super easy to get) or apply for UHC housing without asking for permission (also super easy to get). Last year I knew people who were not UHC by the time they matriculated who still were allowed to apply for (and eventually live in) the UHC freshman dorms.

After your first semester, as long as you have a 3.25+ GPA (I believe, could be a 3.0) you are automatically “in” the UHC and don’t need to ask for permission for anything.

Everything else the UHC does (events, clubs, etc.) is open to EVERYONE who attends Pitt.

No. My HS did not rank at all and I was still in the UHC when I started at Pitt.

I just want to point out that the average GPA of a student applying to Pitt is a 3.9 (source: [University of Pittsburgh–Pittsburgh Campus](<a href=“University of Pittsburgh—Pittsburgh Campus - The Princeton Review College Rankings & Reviews”>University of Pittsburgh—Pittsburgh Campus - The Princeton Review College Rankings & Reviews)). So if a BUNCH of highly qualified kids are applying to Pitt, it’s definitely going to take both admissions and scholarship committees longer to decide what amount to give and to whom. Also keep in mind that the scholarship committee only meets once a week, and since the deadline for scholarship-eligible applications just past, they probably have a lot to look at.
