^^I think you are right for now not to pay. Go see what’s up, if he even likes it. Also try to see the academic side of the school if you can while you are there. Your son has very good academics too and needs to look into those. All Big 10 schools have good academics, so he should be safe anywhere, but he might like Northwestern much better than Iowa.

Don’t pay for any recruiting services. Based on what you have reported you won’t need one. They have their place, particularly for D3 and D2 athletes and lower level D1, but it doesn’t sound like he is going to fit that mold. If Rivals or 24/7 or another online service picks up his profile and rates him (based on info they receive from college coaches) he is going to get plenty of opportunities.
