<p>Ts is surrounding temp
T0 is original temp
T is temp at time t</p>

<p>k is negative if Ts < T0 (if its cooling) hence newt’s law of cooling</p>

<p>You can derive it from the differential equation using partial fractions, but its easier to just memorize </p>
