@Publisher Would you be willing to share where you found those numbers for undergrad and MBA salaries? They are very interesting.
Thanks!

One good MBA source https://poetsandquants.com/
Various sources including WSO & Poets& Quants. Also from folks working in these industries. US News also lists average starting salary & bonus for MBA grads by school, but it is not broken down by industry.
While most list these salaries as lockstep, there are many exceptions depending upon one’s background. (Especially so in Big 4 accounting firms outside of the audit/assurance divisions–which are the lowest paying.)
Also, for MBA s entering MC, they also are eligible for year end bonuses & many former interns get their second year MBA tuition paid by the MC firm in return for a 2 year post MBA commitment. (Also, summer earnings can be substantial for MBA students securing prime internships.)
While salaries top out in the $500,000 to $600,000 range, profit sharing often results in low seven figure earnings with a few exceptional partners earning up to $5 million.
SuzyQ #39… UCONN is an excellent option. If your child really does not want to go there, does her union offer tuition exchange at other universities he may prefer?
Yes, through my wife’s union our children also get favorable status with the Universities of Rhode Island and Maine…I think we get in state tuition rates for them. We looked at both schools with our older child, and we found a lot to like about both. Older child was accepted at URI but chose another school, and elected to forgo applying to Maine entirely solely because of the distance. Honestly, we haven’t gotten this far yet with younger child, a hs junior, in terms of considering them too.
Lots of good advice here. I have one son at an Ivy that has an internship at a BB in IB it was a direct feeder. Agree with Publisher re stats and schools in above post with maybe the addition of Baruch College as a possible hidden gem that might lead to Wall Street. Son has met many from Baruch at Wall Street events - mostly BO jobs but some FO jobs too. Relatively inexpensive and very very easy to land business internships in general due to location in NYC.
This brings me to next suggestion (if UCONN is not where your kids want to go ) pick a school near a big city for availability of business internships. My older son transferred to 3 different schools; ended up at a no name state school near NYC that had plethora of internships available. He majored in Business Admin /Data analytics (focused in Excel mastering) and had plenty of job offers and is constantly being recruited. He had friends in marketing with same experience al bet lower salary.
With the exception of Wall Street jobs, I think its not so much the name of the school but where you go to school. Of course you will need a great GPA and resume at a no name school, but a school with proximity to big city should offer the internships that can get you that great resume.
What are your son’s stats? Does he need a more nurturing environment? Does he have a plan B if he doesn’t make the cut (to have a good shot he’d need to be top 10% of his hs class, 1350-1400 sat - does that match?)
URI and UMaine would be safer bets for a student slightly below those stats.
Bentley, Bryant, Stevens, Fordham would offer another environment but woke obviously be much more expensive.
