We had a variety of reds. The big disappointment was an Oregon Pinot Noir, Erath, that was so vinegary that neither of us could drink it. (And no, I am not a sweet wine drinker who is encountering a dry wine and surprised by it.) That’s something I haven’t encountered before. I’m going to taste it again, and if it still strikes me that way, I’m going to take the bottle back on the grounds that it must have been off. (Something which I have never considered doing before.)

So we ended up with several. The big surprise was an incredibly cheap Sterling Sauvingnon Blanc 2010 that was worth five times I paid.

So we had the 2007 Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir - really excellent. Tasted rich anf full bodied with hints of cherry, berries and spice.

ebeeee - yes this one is made by the Pisoni family from their vineyards. Discovered it at a friends house when he had a tasting of three Pinots from three different wine makers all from the Pisoni vineyard. Really fun tasting to see what different winemakers do with the same grapes.

For Mom we also had Nobilio SB… which made her happy…

Best was a bottle of cheap Barefoot bubbly I drank with my DD in the final throes of the dinner preparations.
