<p>I guess I’d agree with you. I also get the sense that Holden’s a pretty good guy, deep-down (I think Salinger may have once said that he’s “hopelessly impaled” on the world’s beauty, which I thought was a great quote.) And it would stand to reason that he “reverberates” with teenagers.</p>
<p>On a side note, doesn’t the text imply that Holden is/has been committed to an institution of some sort?</p>
