Something that would look good on an application to an ivy. There are other posts with the same general idea, but most of the ideas are math and science oriented.

internship? idk i did one last summer…but i want a more “fun” experience thats worthwhile too.

I know im too picky. any suggestions would be appreciated here too!

The Global Issues Seminar at Notre Dame may be something to look into

I say…DO WHAT YOU ARE!

Because…the most prestigious ones are probably not suited to your interested and/or impossible to get in.

I was like you … about 3 days ago. Then friendlies here changed my mind xD. Now I’m considering a science internship and hopefully, if I can fit in, a debate camp.

Internships show that you’ve got good experience. It doesn’t matter if it’s a prestigious internship or a not so prestigious internship – you’ve got the experience! – Correct me if this is wrong

The camp is for boosting my skill only – and this hopefully will reflect in my NEXT year’s progress, which will also be “good under the eyes of ivies”

So if you think about it, you’re really looking for EFFECTIVE IN THE LONG RUN.

Here’s a list to get you started:

PLEASE ADD TO THE LIST OTHER “PRESTIGIOUS” BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY >EFFECTIVE< SUMMER CAMPS IN MATH AND SCIENCE THAT YOU’VE EXPERIENCED THANKS

Yea. Hope I’ve helped, but I’m sure looking at what others there might be! Then I’ll start app-filling.

I went to the JSA Summer School at Georgetown last summer and I loved it. Great experience, great & challenging class, awesome contacts, doing it again in summer '09 at Stanford.

I went to JSA Summer School at Yale and it was terrific. I got to meet Katie Couric, Brian Williams, Geraldine Ferraro, and the Executive Director of UNICEF. Also, I got to meet the Dean of Admissions of Yale. There is some much to learn and so many people that you get to meet that are just as interested in discussing political issues as the next.
