Both of my S’s have definite masculine first names but they go by nicknames that years ago would have been defintely male nicknames but have become unisex over the years.

S1’s name is very unisex. S2’s still leans more to the male side. We have often told S1 that he has a perfectly good full name that he is free to use whenever he wants if the nickname bothers him. Also there is another nickname for his full name would be considered more masculine. He is a super masculine guy, body builder, military man so he has never had any flack about his unisex name.

S2’s full name could easily be considered three last names or three first names!

Like another poster many of my S’s friends call them by their last name, which could also be a first name, lol,
When DH was in college many called him by his last name also. It must be a guy thing.
