What's in your CSA box?

I just got the first box last week. The farmer has a greenhouse and the box included chard, lettuce, asparagus, turnips, garlic scapes, mint(?) and bok choy. We don’t have any choices in what we receive but there is always 7-8 different items. When I’m feeling too lazy to learn to cook new things, I simply fall back on my tried and true saute/steam/eat raw methods. I split the share with a friend, so only get a box every other week. It works well for me and forces me to eat in a more healthy way.

I had planned on using my radishes last night on my taco salad, but forgot. I’m going to try roasting them today. People say they taste like potatoes that way. We’ll see…

Forgot to take a picture but this week I got:
strawberries
carrots
Frisée lettuce
other lettuce
kale

and a new-to-me vegetable - white/salad turnips.

What a surprise the turnips were. They are crunchy and have the texture of a radish, but they have absolutely no peppery “bite” to them. They are almost sweet. And the turnip greens were excellent. I think they’ve been my favorite greens so far. Very mild and tender.

I’ve been getting those salad, hakurei, turnips for the last several weeks at our farmers market. I’m addicted to them! One of the farmers I regularly buy from introduced them to me a few years ago.
Also today bought:
Snap peas
Bibb lettuce
Strawberries
Tomatoes
A cherry tomato plant
