OOOH! Yes and no. Roman Catholicism absolutely rejects different forms (or avatars, right?) of God. That is a heresy called modalism, which I mentioned earlier in the thread – some Christians do believe that. Similarly, some don’t believe Jesus was divine, some believe Jesus was not always divine, some believe that he is divine but different from God the Father (this is called heteroousianism).

So the Catholic understanding of God is that God is one, but in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, which is the manifestation of the love between the other two persons (also called the Paraclete). They are all equal and have always existed yet are also different in some way (but are at the same time all the same).

So to answer your question, Jesus Christ is both God and Son of God.

Polytheistic - best examples are Greek, Roman, Norse, Egyptian, and early Mesopotamian pantheons of gods. Basically, there exist no major true polytheistic religion anymore

Monotheistic - every major religion except the atheistic ones (eg: Buddhism).

Monochrome, Christians don’t worship JC, because he’s the son of God, but he’s also divine (this is Christology) and part of a tripartite trinitarian God, which Putturani described.

Son = JC, Father = God, Yahweh, Allah, Dieu, Deus etc. Holy Spirit = Paraclete.

What I’m saying is that to me, the trinity doesn’t really feel monotheistic. Like, it’s not monotheistic the way the Jewish concept of god is mono.

Sorry, Putturani, in country we call it ‘Brahma’, ‘Wisnu’, and ‘Syiwa’.
And I never understand Christianity. Trinitarian as in ‘Tritunggal Maha Kudus’ or ‘The Holy Three’?

These terms are in English, which isn’t my first language.

Indonesia, and Indonesian, my friend.
Tritunggal Maha Kudus = Trinitarian, or ‘The Holy Three’.

Yeah, religion is complicated. As are human-beings and the society in general. Even the greatest sociologist and Pope himself can entirely define what these really means.

:) Ahh yeah Indonesia, they believe in the Ramayana too right? Oh and I was researching Hinduism on wiki (haha I know it’s not the best source but w/e) and I didn’t realize people made it so complicated!

I’m Asian and I only would marry a white girl. I find Hispanics attractive but my parents would be very against that for some reasons. I don’t like Asian girls. I like jewish girls though! Even though there aren’t very many haha

As for religion, I wouldn’t mind, I find myself as agnostic, but I would definitely prefer a girl to be either Christian or Jewish, as opposed to agnostic or atheist. My parents’ would be pretty dead set against me dating a Muslim girl.

Did your mom get in trouble wiith her family for getting married to an atheist?

In general, I feel as though marrying within my own culture or religion (Islam) is more homey…(makes me feel a lot more comfortable). But overall, I’m open to marrying outside of those boundaries…

I basically don’t really care, I don’t have much preference, but my grandma is completely against me marrying anyone of a different race. My grandpa on the other hand wants me to marry a white guy and have “American” looking kids, so they can be the President. I know, crazy…

As for belief systems, I’d stick with someone with the same beliefs.

Oh and as for my actual opinions. I guess I personally wouldn’t do it, just because I don’t typically feel attracted to people outside my race? I don’t think I can really help it. So I’d probably only go for Indian or Middle-Eastern guys.

Although my parents do have very firm beliefs on what type of guy I should marry. Down to the state.

Haha meadow36 my family, esp my uncle have it narrowed it down to the state, caste, sub-cast and sub-sub cast and say that I have to find out all the info about a boy before even falling for him! hahaha

The whole interracial intergender advanced relationships thing doesn’t matter to me, as in: it doesn’t bother me when I see an interracial couple.

I personally do not often find myself sexually attracted to anybody other than white people, so I will marry a white girl when I grow up (because attractiveness, in addition to personality, is one of the bases for an advanced relationship).

WHAT? How old are you?! My family don’t care much about where he lives as long as his community matches mine. And I kind of agree with what they are saying (although I don’t like the “caste system”) because I am a vegitarian and most vegitarians are only found in my caste so I guess it makes sense from the adjustment POV
