<p>This thread will give you some idea of how the students fared when Hurricane Ike hit 3 years ago. The administration made sure to take care of the kids and they posted updates every day on the school’s website to let students, faculty and parents know what was going on.</p>
<p>Since Rice is on the same power grid as the medical center across the street, they were among the first to get power restored. That’s a good thing.</p>
<p>My son’s residential college had some exterior damage (bricks falling from the facade) and there was some minor flooding in the basement, but most of the damage was from fallen trees and limbs.</p>
