Not always - some people’s first and last names match up with other people’s (especially in the case of Asians with Westernized first names and common last names), so Duke will add a number at the end or a middle initial.

<p>Not all Asian immigrants legally changed their names. In fact, most Asians do not. Therefore their initial email alias will use their legal names. That’s what happened to me.</p>
