When do you find time to read?

I cram right before my book club meets.

My husband does a lot of distance driving and got me started on books on CD and now e-books. I finished 3 discs while driving to pick up D for Christmas yesterday!

NJres, if you can’t read in bed before you go to sleep because you keep falling asleep, you need to start sooner – seriously. Get into bed half an hour before you plan to go to sleep.

I’ve asked for a new booklight for Christmas for my nightime reading - husband can’t stand when I even use the small lamp on my side of the bed…now I need to find something to hide the sound of the page being turned!!! (you’d think with all that snoring he does, that he wouldn’t even notice me reading!)

Ditto. I usually read before I go to bed. I read on weekends. If I have a subway trip that’s more than a couple of stops, I’ll bring a book. Sometimes I read while my boyfriend is making dinner (I’m no good at cooking - I pay when we eat out instead :)). I pretty much always read when I’m on planes, unless I’m sleeping.

I work full-time and am a part-time grad student, with some community/activist work, working out, and spending time with my boyfriend and friends thrown in there, so it’s not as though I have nothing going on in my life to take up my time, but I will make time for reading.

Before bed and always, always when I’m doing my 30-minutes-per-day on the exercise bike.

Plus, I often go on reading jags on the weekends, especially during those long snowy MI weekends…

I dont have much time to read. But every year it is my Christmas present to myself. At least a four days no holds bared non stop 3-4 book reading orgy.

To originaloog i looked at your name for a solid minute trying to figure it out… only to realize its the greatest name ever.

I made the mistake of going into local library to inquire about a book club, and now I’m running it! It forces me to read, even though sometimes night before the club. ( hi p3t)

I often check CC for suggestions

Brushing my teeth, blow-drying my hair, cooking, train crossings, traffic jams, between the boys and girls HS basketball games (and during half-time), while waiting for anything. Always before bed. Housework usually takes a back seat to reading. I always have a book with me and I think that’s the key.
