D goes back to junior year at Wesleyan on the 27th. Son will head to Michigan on Monday 27 or Tuesday 28…move-in day is determined by his dorm and he isn’t yet assigned to a room. The housing application e-mail came (to my son) on May 2 - the day my father died. It was due on May 10. He didn’t read it carefully or bring it to my attention until May 13. He is guaranteed housing but is waiting for an assignment that will result from someone else changing his/her plans. In addition, Michigan’s yield was very high and they are oversubscribed. I am trying not to be too stressed about it, but I really wish it was settled.

Sunday morning, we’ll be waking up early to be in Worcester by 8:00 a.m. - New Student Orientation starts Sunday, classes start next Thursday.

Two more weeks of unpredictable grocery needs. Glad I had some watermelon the day I bought it- it disappeared by the next pm, courtesy of one thin son. The last one lasted a much longer time.

mom55, everything will be fine with Michigan. Your son may end up on North Campus (a little out of the way usless he’s an engineering, music, etc. major), but that’s the worst thing that will happen to him. :)

reeses414, my son is going to the Music School (Jazz Studies) so North Campus is fine. He did get his assignment yesterday; they ran out of doubles so he got a single (at a reduced rate, since he had requested a double) in Baits I. We hope it’s not too isolated but he’s a friendly guy so we’re not too worried. Thanks!

My S lives off campus and stayed there over the summer so no move in trips for us. The dorms at his sch. open this Saturday and the first day of class is Aug. 22.

August 18th!!! I gotta start packing!
