<p>Yea…i got into all my UC’s that i applied to except LA and i’m still waiting for UCI…has anyone got in touch with the admissions office</p>

<p>Sadness!!! I didn’t get into UCI. They didn’t even send out an email. I checked this morning before class and there was nothing on the admissions page. I checked after class and it said “We are sorry that we are not able to offer you admission for fall quarter, 2008.” I got into UC Davis though, so I guess I’m going there for fall (but I reeeeeaaaaally wanted to go to UCI dammit). Anyway, good luck to those that are still waiting!</p>

<p>Oh for reference, I applied to UCI Business Econ from UCSC Business Management Econ. I finished all the prereqs and all but 2 GE’s at UCSC. My GPA is a 3.3. The dumbest part of all this is that I could have just gone to CC, paid a lot less money, followed the TAG program, and gotten into UCI guaranteed. I hate the admissions process…especially uci’s!</p>

<p>After checking how to appeal at Irvine, apparently since they gave my decision the day the application closes, I have to pay them the application free again. How gay…</p>

<p>Appeals to Closure of the Application Filing Deadline</p>

<p>To apply for admission after a filing period has ended or for a closed filing period, you must file a written appeal and provide required documents directly to OARS. Consideration for appeals is based on your overall application and extenuating circumstances and students are advised that appeals of this type may not be accepted, regardless of circumstances. No faxes, e-mails or incomplete packets will be considered.</p>

<p>Appeals to Closure must include the following:</p>

  • Letter of appeal clearly stating new or compelling reason for appeal consideration, written and signed by the applicant

<p>My girlfriend got in today, but they seemingly assigned her a random major? lol. she applied as bio, with microbio as her alt. major, and she got in as “public health”. strange… luckily it would seem that changing your major to bio is pretty easy at UCI, and she exceeds all the requirements by far. still though…odd right?</p>

<p>i think its insane that UCI took this long, they had some serious problems processing their applications it would seem.</p>
