When there is no "safety"

<p>My son was a music performance major. Truthfully, there are no auditioned safety programs in this field. It all depends on the audition…both yours and how it ranks with the others who are taking the audition on your instrument.</p>

<p>DS had an alternate plan if he hadn’t gotten accepted…</p>

<p>That is what this student needs…a rolling admission school (which hopefully will give her an acceptance early) and a Plan B.</p>

<p>I wouldn’t focus on plan B just yet. Now is the time to be working on plan A. Make sure you visit each of the 10 schools and let them know how interested she is in their program. Be more than just a name on paper. Meet with the admissions officers . Write a thank you note after she does. Be someone they remember and like. At these small schools it can really make a difference.</p>
