When your friends ask "What colleges are you applying to?"

Only my bff’s know where I really want to apply, and some adults know that Brown is (well, was) my top school.

Reason:
I’m known around my school as an intellegent yet ditzy slacker who doesn’t do hw but writes amazingly and is passionate about life and newspaper and participates in class. There are a lot of super geniusy people who do all the hw and ace every test , etc. But right now, as far as I know, I have the highest SAT score out of any one in my grade (2340), including the all the super smart people. So people think I will get into “any college I choose”, which I know from CC is complete bs, considering transcripts trump standardized scores in the admissions process, and my transcript perfectly reflects my laid back approach to learning. So bascially, I’m still aiming really high (Yale SCEA, Brown, Williams, Northwestern) while being realistic (Scripps, Northeastern, Oberlin- all for merit aid), which makes my list enormous (about 12 schools). So the reason I avoid answering where I’m applying to when my peers ask is 1) I’m applying to wayy more places than the average kid, even the smart ones and 2) I don’t want to have to listen to “oh, how’d you get rejected with SAT scores like yours??” 20 billion times when I potentially get rejected from Yale/Brown/Williams. So basically, I won’t tell anyone where I’m applying or where I get rejected, I’ll just wear my Yale/Brown/Williams sweatshirt with pride if I’m lucky enough to get a big envelope. :)
