Alumnae Maggie McClure makes her 2nd appearance on ABC’s “The Middle” tonight!
16 current MT students (8 boys, 8 girls divided as 4 sopranos, 4 altos, 4 tenors, 4 bass) got the chance of a lifetime last night to make their Broadway debuts as the ensemble in Kristin Chenoweth’s finale of a Love Letter to Broadway.
Some other current MT students got to go to China over Fall Break to perform and give workshops.
Both trips were paid for by the school and it’s donors. Great opportunities for these current students!

Kudos to OCU students and alumni singled out for praise in the BroadwayWorld OKC review of Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma’s Disney’s When You Wish. Reviewer Robert Barossi notes: " Ashley Arnold is radiant as Belle and sings with a lovely voice that outshines her very shiny wardrobe… Sophia Macías nearly brings the house down with her amazing singing voice alone as Pocahontas. Jessica Martens is adorable and pitch-perfect as Ariel… Tevyn Hill provides one of the biggest highlights of the production as Sebastian. His “Under the Sea” is a number that literally takes over the entire theatre and I dare you to not smile, tap your toes and sing along with the charismatic Hill. Bravi tutti!
Congratulations to alumnus Russell McCook for rave reviews of his recent portrayal of Henrik in Theatre Three’s production of A Little Night Music. The Dallas News calls his performance “marvelous,” while BroadwayWorld Dallas & Fort Worth notes “Mention must also be made of Russell McCook and his performances of ‘Later,’ while playing the cello: it was both beautiful and moving.” TheaterJones writes: “Russell McCook plays Henrik not so much as a bumbling dork, but as seething sexuality personified and packed into a black Lutheran seminarian’s suit, ready to explode.”
Salutes alumna Brennan Martinez, to star in the title role of the 2017 Bay View Music Festival’s August 2-5 production of CARMEN!
Bravo to alumnus Darius Wright, a veteran of the Matilda The Musical national tour, on inking his first Broadway contact, for A Bronx Tale The Musical!

Brava!

Break legs to alumna Eryn LeCroy and Tony-winner Victoria Clark, from the Toronto run of Sousatzka the Musical, reuniting for the July 12-15 performances of Assassins - Encores! Off-Center @ New York City Center!
Brava to alumna Tiffan Borelli-Urken on her rave portrayal of Marian the Librarian in Theatre By The Sea’s production of The Music Man. The Providence Journal writes: “It was clear as soon as Tiffan Borelli, the musical’s uptight Marian, tiptoed her way into “Goodnight, My Someone,” that this show was going to be a winner. At least Borelli got my attention with the sweetness and sincerity of singing that’s so unlike the brassy, in-your-face sound so many Broadway crooners strive for. She just let the music speak for itself, with a simple, pure delivery.”
