Where Are The Puzzle People?

Let us know how you like it and if you feel it indeed is good for up to 1000 pieces - that’s the size I saved in my Amazon list!

The medium size says it’s good for a 1500 piece puzzle. I checked the puzzles I have here, and all will fit. They are all 1000 piece puzzles. So I got the medium!

Last year my sister’s family did a puzzle for Christmas and she said they liked it, so I’m going to put that puzzle table (the $70 one, not the $1700 one) on the list for a family present. Unlikely, but I might win the lottery before then. They also have a ski house and while it is possible to leave puzzles on the dining room table from week to week, this would be more convenient.

Re: puzzle quality. I’m a Ravensberger puzzle fan. I like the thickness of the pieces, and also they have great puzzles!

For a very long time, I was a huge fan of Bits and Pieces, but I think their puzzle quality has gone down.

There are four neighbors on my street who do puzzles and we share them around. Once we all have done them, they are given to me to donate to the charity thrift shop where two of us volunteer. And I’ve also bought some there….puzzles are only $5.

We also love Ravensburger. Buffalo is also pretty consistently good. But, a neighbor recently turned us on to Magic Puzzle Company…..they are so fun! A puzzle in a puzzle.

We are puzzle fanatics when we’re at our beach house. Have tried to get in the spirit while home, but it’s just not the same….

We take a 1000 piece puzzle with us every year at our beach vacation. We start it the first day we are there, and hope we get it done by the time we leave. We then leave it there (owners are fine with this) for future renters to enjoy.

I’m looking forward to doing puzzles at home with my new puzzle thing. But really, it’s a rainy day or cold weather activity when we are at home.

I originally got a 1,000 piece puzzle board (similar to the one linked above), but it was slightly too small for the finished puzzles. I also recommend the 1,500 piece board if you normally do 1,000 piece puzzles.

My go-to brands are Ravensburger and White Mountain, but I’m looking forward to trying the Magic Puzzle ones based on the recommendations here!

This is exactly what I wanted to know! Thank you.

Yes. I looked at the measurements of my puzzles on the boxes, and the small was not going to work. But I really don’t need the large. I’ll let you know how this works out.

This just showed up in my Facebook thread so naturally I thought of this thread.

We haven’t worked on table puzzles in a LONG time, but discovered our local library has puzzles available to check out (on an honor system). They ask that no pieces are missing when donated or returned. We have not tried any yet to know general condition.

This is the medium size puzzle board linked upstream. You can see my 1000 piece puzzle in it. There are also six drawers below. I’m glad I got the medium size because I have space on the board to sort pieces. And I can store in the drawers when not doing the puzzle.

There is a lazy Susan I haven’t put on yet. Not sure I’d need it!

And the picture shows why I needed this!

Thanks for sharing the photo. I’ll have to look at the different measurements

I really like the lazy Susan part, so I can turn and work on one side

Mine is on the end of my dining room table so I can easily walk to the sides.

I might put the lazy Susan on at some point…

I bought the puzzle tray (suggested by @abasket Amazon Prime thread today) to give to my sister for either Christmas or if we use her mtn house this summer as a thank you gift). Then I went to the thrift store and bought 3 puzzles; I thought they were on sale but it was the wrong color tags, so paid FULL PRICE which is very unlike me. One is of VW buses, which my brother collects, and the others looked like good ones for several people to do (blocks of colors).

I finished my puzzle and the new one is here.

Do others find it hard to break them up and give away?

Yes! I have a charity spot I give them to and I have also framed one.

I take a pic and show it to the family via text

Okay, I’ll dismantle. Why did you frame one?

I really liked it and it was related to my professional work. Makes a fun zoom background.
