Isnt the point of Early Acceptance to apply to your number one college??
How can people apply to multiple programs? I thought that almost all of them were binding?

EA or Early Action is non-binding; people can apply to as many as they want. Some restrictions may apply (e.g. No ED schools).
SCEA, Single Choice Early Action, is also non-binding, but has the restriction that the applicant can not apply early to any other school, EA or ED.
ED, Early Decision, is binding.
