@wemeantwell, Thanks for posting. My daughter is looking at Scripps and Pitzer.
Thank you for posting this @quietdesperation My daughter is trying to get into Tulane with similar stats.
@TexasMom0321 similar to son 1 or 2? If the former, should be a breeze if the latter, we felt it was a mini-reach, not sure how much it really matters, but in one of their blogs, they talked about the importance of the āwhy tulaneā essay. My son spent a long time on it and came up with something smart/funny. In any case, good luck to your daughter. We were hoping one of our kids would attend just so we could visit!
Similar to both.
GPA 3.4
ACT 31 (she took it again 2 days ago, pending result)
Lots of EC
Not sure about APs but she is in a collegiate program and will have her Associate degree along with her HS diploma in June 2016.
(I believe 9 APs. 7 were dual credit)
We toured Tulane in July & she fell in love. She wrote a strong āWhy Tulaneā essay and personal statement. She applied SCEA in August. We are still waiting to hear something.
@quietdesperation
@TexasMom0321 looks like a strong application. my observation when my eldest son applied was that a lot of merit went to high sat scorers.He was above the top 25%, ended up with $25k/year.Iām sure itās part of their strategy to climb the us news rankings. I wonder if the scea in the end may work against you, should your daughter improve her act composite.
in any case, good luck to her, I suspect there are oyster po boys in your future!

Iād only observe that for many universities, a 3.3 is qualitatively different from a 3.6. And my school doesnāt weight grades and only has honors/college prep classes as it is private. Which makes comparing GPAs difficult. Thatās why I wouldnāt be guided too much by your GPAā¦

Sort of like a spin off that was done with SAT scores for 2016 acceptances.
